Pickmotion's Card Journey

The creative journey from sketch to finished print file and product involves many feedback rounds and changes—not only to the design but also to the wording. This process includes multiple brainstorming sessions with the entire team, debating which elements and wording make the most sense.

Sketching out Ideas

The process starts with sketches of ideas, sometimes very rough, but other times with specific color palettes in mind. These sketches go through multiple feedback rounds. The wording may change several times, though in this case, the first draft remained largely unchanged from the start.

Finishing the Design

After multiple feedback rounds, once the final design is decided on, it is polished and a gold layer is added. From there, the final print file is created and goes through several proofing rounds to ensure there are no mistakes in the design, such as unwanted spots or lines. Afterward, the file is sent for printing.

Creating Product Images

Once the final print file is sent to the printer, product images for the catalog and web shop need to be created. These are produced in batches, along with other designs, using a specialized workflow.

Social Media Post

For this specific design, a short animation for Instagram was also created. The design had to be adjusted by removing the gold layer and modifying all the layers so they could be animated.
